Data protection notice

Data protection is very important to us. We take the protection of your personal data very seriously. Below, we would like to explain to you, what data we collect, when, and the purpose of its collection and processing.

Applicable laws

The EU’s General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”) and the Telecommunications-Telemedia Data Protection Act (Telekommunikation-Telemedien-Datenschutz-Gesetz – “TTDSG”, which is the implementation of the EU’s e-Privacy Directive) and if applicable the German Federal Data Protection Act (Bundesdatenschutzgesetz – “BDSG”), provide protection for your personal data, which is any data that helps identify you.

What happens when you use our website?

Whenever our website is accessed (in other words, whenever you download or attempt to download a file on this server), data about this activity is stored in a logfile:

  • IP address
  • Name of the downloaded file
  • Date and time of the download
  • Transferred volume of data
  • Notification of whether the download was successful
  • Notification of why a download might have failed
  • Operating system and browser software of your computer
  • Screen resolution
  • Browser language
  • Colour depth
  • The website from which you are visiting us

The prepared datasets are stored in logfiles for technical and statistical purposes and deleted after these purposes have been fulfilled. We are unable to identify you using the stored data. The data are is also not forwarded by us to third parties (the companies of the ALDI Nord Group are not considered third parties in this definition). Only in cases where our rights have been breached do we reserve our rights to forward individual datasets to the responsible agencies in order to initiate proceedings relating to infringement of rights.

This data processing is carried out on the basis of Article 6(1)(f) GDPR in conjunction with § 25(2) No. 2 TTDSG to offer and improve our website.

Use of cookies and local storage

We use so-called "cookies" on our websites and utilise the local storage capacity of your browser ("local storage") in order to offer you maximum ease of use and to continue to make our online offering attractive for you in the future.

If your personal data is processed, you are a data subject within the meaning of the GDPR and you are entitled to the following rights against the person responsible for collecting your personal data:

  • Right to information (Article 15 GDPR). You may request confirmation from the person responsible as to whether personal data concerning you is being processed by us, for what purpose and for how long, which categories of data are affected, to which recipients or categories of recipients the data is disclosed.
  • Right of rectification (Article 16 GDPR), completion, restriction (article 18 GDPR): You may request the rectification or completion of incorrect or incomplete data concerning you. You also have the right to restrict processing, particularly in the case of statutory storage obligations.
  • Right to deletion (Article 17 GDPR): You can demand the deletion of data relating to you, in particular if your consent is withdrawn.
  • Right to data transferability (Article 20 GDPR): You have the right to request that the personal data concerning you be made available in a machine-readable format.
  • Right of objection, revocation and complaint: You may object to the processing of your personal data in principle and revoke any consent you have given. You have the right to complain to a supervisory authority.
